- I live surrounded by books. They are everywhere in our house – lining shelves, crammed in drawers, stacked up on my light stand. It seems there is never enough room in our house for all our books. I refuse my children a lot of things – toys, games, electronics – but I have never refused them a book. Some of my fondest memories involve books. My children love the soothing ritual of our nighttime reading, as does my husband.
- When you visit our store, you’ll see that I carry my love of books into my business. The children’s play area has books. All of the room vignettes contain bookshelves. And the front of the store currently has three!
- While I really appreciate the convenience of my Kindle, especially during travel, it will never replace actual books. To me, books are warm, inviting, and beautiful to look at. Electronic readers cannot compete.
- Take a look at some of these incredible libraries and bookshelves. And, indulge yourself with a pretty reading room or reading nook.

The Importance of Art for Kids
Art elevates. Art inspires. Art transforms. Art teaches.
Art is an integral part of everyday life and art has such a profound impact on personal development that we all need to introduce our children to art early. We know the importance of reading to our children, and that instilling a lifetime love of reading and building their literal dictionary cannot be overestimated. Similarly, it is important to expose children to the universal language of art and to build their appreciation of individuality, beauty, and history as well as building their personal visual dictionary.
A few quotes from famous artists for your enjoyment !
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.
Pablo Picasso
How important are the visual arts in our society? I feel strongly that the visual arts are of vast and incalculable importance. Of course I could be prejudiced. I am a visual art.
Kermit the Frog
I want to touch people with my art. I want them to say ‘he feels deeply, he feels tenderly.’
Vincent Van Gogh
Art is the queen of all sciences communicating knowledge to all the generations of the world. Leonardo da Vinci
I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way-things I had no words for.
Georgia O’Keeffe
Art teaches nothing, except the significance of life.
Henry Miller
